Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023.     One of the best meals of my life. Service, vibe, food, cocktail were all impeccable but in a completely not pretentious way. Every bite on the tasting menu was complex and flavorful, that left you considering and thinking after each bite. It was simply SO GOOD.

    Food was good not great, service was very good, but it was very noisy in the indoor part of the restaurant. And there was also music playing which made it hard to hear other people at our own table of 4. If you wear hearing aids communication would be close to a lost cause.

    The food, service and atmosphere were all first rate, but the restaurant was relatively full and the noise level made it difficult to hear quiet conversation so we had to speak up at our table of four

    Great meal! We only had a short time for dinner as we were headed to a concert. The staff was extremely attentive, served courses at a perfect pace so we were timely but didn’t feel rushed. Food was delicious and plentiful. And it is SO nice to eat in a restaurant where you don’t have to shout to be heard. We carried on our conversation at normal speaking levels and didn’t hear from those at tables near us. Convenient location and definitely will be back.
