2nd time to the Durham OX. It was so good the 1st time we brought friends with us this time. Service is great. Very attentive staff. Atmosphere is comfy and cozy. Food is fantastic. The destination is about a 40 minute drive for us but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend anyone going for a visit. I look forward to our next one.

Dinner with friends on a Friday evening. We arrived early - table was ready. Great choice of menu. Attentive service throughout by a young team. Christmas pizza lacked flavour. The steak and blue cheese pie was outstanding. It might be a good option to ask/tell what your seasonal veg was on the night. We were served kale and Brussels sprouts which two of our party do not like sprouts - probable like the majority of diners? The Drovers is a “go to” destination and we only came across it earlier this year. We now class ourselves as regulars and love the experience.

Our first time at The Hawthorn. Was a lovely restaurant. Greeted by very helpful polite staff. Very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. Very nice indeed and we will definitely be returning.
