- MMichaelvipSan Francisco Bay Area •575 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoFair lunch this afternoon. Pleasant lake view from my window table. I started with the French onion soup. I remembered it being better on my last visit. Rather unremarkable this time. Next I had the bacon wrapped 7oz.filet Mignon with crispy French fries. The fries were quite tasty and as crispy as advertised. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare. Fair selection of wines by the glass. Service was adequate.More infoGar Woods Grill and Pier RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Californian• Carnelian Bay•4.7
- GGarrettNew York City •10 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoAfter reading very positive reviews from food critics, I was still skeptical about casino dining. But I know Chef Holman is dedicated to making great food and it appears management has given him the slack he needs to execute his vision. After a few recommendations from the staff, we settled on the Cioppino and the nightly special. Both were excellent and both were generous portions. We also started with the tuna crudo and sampled the flourless chocolate torte but, sadly, were too full to finish it. True to its moniker, the wine list is made up of primarily California wines. These tend to be very fruit-forward expressions and are generally higher in alcohol. If I could change anything, it would be to fill in some of the wine list with acid and mineral driven wines that complement the dishes. But I also understand that they want to stock wine people order frequently. The staff was great. Despite being very busy, they took time to explain dishes, make recommendations and even make jokes with me. Oh, and plan to spend a couple of hours. This is not a casual meal for people in a hurry.More infoBistro Napa - Atlantis Casino ResortPrice: Moderate• Californian• Reno•4.8
