Best Contemporary French Restaurants in Salt Lake

Thanks to Travis, Lohi, Nick, Brendan, and Yuhi for excellent food and service. Special thank you to Zack, the line cook who was right in front of us and explained the dishes while never missing a beat while cooking. If you want to go to one fine dining establishment while in Honolulu, Mugen is it! An intimate, well designed dining room sets the tone. The service is friendly and very professional. Every dish that was served was perfect. This six course dining experience was exceptional. Try the foie gras sandwich...simply the best. All of the service staff and a visit from the chef made the visit a memorable evening. If Michelin ever starts reviewing Hawaii restaurants, Mugen would earn three stars!

Great service even though surprisingly busy on a Tuesday in November (great for the restaurant!). Highest marks for the Ocean Harvest appetizer, and the Beef Wellington and Filet Mignon and Lobster Entrees. All beef entrees cooked perfectly! Also preparation and delivery of Bananas Foster and Cherries Jubilee was excellent and scrumptious!
