Best Modern Southern American Restaurants in North Charlotte

We decided to do Valentines a day later since we had to work on actual Valentine’s Day. We booked for a 4:30 reservation (the latest they had until 8pm. Which was totally fine. We arrived at 4:20 and had our car valeted since there isn’t street parking. Walked in, were greeted right away- seated and within two minutes our server greeted us with water. He took our cocktail order then told us about their Rendezvous for Two deal, which included an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $55. Our drinks arrived quickly and the app followed within a couple of minutes. We did the Pimento Cheese Dip which was great. Then I had the Shrimp and Grits and my wife did the Salmon with Creamy Quinoa. Both portions were great (so much so that I couldn’t finish all mine). We got our dessert to go since we were both stuffed from the large portions. We got the Pecan Pie and oh my goodness it was delicious. Our server was great and super helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I went for Valentine's Day prix fix dinner with my hubs. The dining room is just off the lobby of the lovely hotel and has a nice setting with artwork with scenes of NC . It's a small dining room, holding probably a total of 50 guests or less. The servers were competent and professional. The cocktail menu was pleasant, but thedrinks took longer than should have to arrive. Our Caesar Salads were fresh with a yummy dressing. We both had the Ribeye steak with asparagus and loaded mashed potatoes. The sides were delicious; the steak had a nice flavor and cooked to our liking, but quality of the steak was low with much grizzle and fat. The highlight of the meal was dessert, recommended by our waiter. A cherry and biscuit shortcake with a chocolate drizzle. It was like the most delicious cherry pie but layered with the most delicious biscuits. I would go back just for this. Overall, a good evening.

First time attending and wasn't disappointed with the food and service. The valentine's day special was worth the money but it was a great experience with it. The service was top notch and very accommodating. My lady enjoyed as well as I for a special day of love ❤️

I went to the Dogwood for a birthday dinner, and my expectations were exceeded. The duck and dumplings was delicious, and I wouldn’t come back without getting it again. The smash burger was also fantastic, and the comeback sauce on it made me want to get a bottle for myself. And for how good the food was, the service was amazing too. When I arrived, the hostess, Macayla, warmly greeted me and wished me happy birthday before showing me to my table. My server, Ryan, was friendly and attentive throughout the whole evening, and somehow always seemed to know when I needed something. The drink he recommended me, the Stellar Pink, wasn’t something that I would have tried on my own accord, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend anyone to dine here, whether you’re staying in the Westin or not.
