Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Gorham

Consistently fantastic food and service! We love all the options Portland’s restaurants provide and visit many of them. Since we visited David’s twenty years ago, we’ve decided that is where we will go when family/friends visit because all ages and palates find something they want to eat (meatloaf, tuna sashimi, burger, sirloin, steak au poivre, garlic knots, brussle sprouts, and salads), and we can rely on the quality.

We went here for Maine Restaurant Week 2025 and I was very happy with my experience. The set menu was absolutely delicious. The only complaint is that the cake in the dessert course was a bit dry, but the truffle shavings with honey on the vanilla ice cream was to die for. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was great, and the ambient was nice. I would definitely go back.

This is a very fine restaurant. Superior food in a comfortable, understated room. Wonderful pasta and unique flavors. Friendly, responsive service.

Amazing food and excellent service as usual - always a special experience.

Excellent experience for a team building lunch. Our waitress was fantastic and the hibachi chef did amazing. Thank you to the entire staff for being so accommodating and for making great food.
