Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. Again, as always, the food is the star here. There is truly no better (some as good) sushi in Denver or a many, even hundreds of miles mile radius. On this particular night, the crowd was bigger and louder than usual and the service perhaps struggled a bit to keep up with the volume. Usually the ambience is a little more peaceful and the design/decor elements are quite lovely. We go back again and again for the amazing foo, that while pricey, is Incredible. As strange as it sounds for a land-locked state, we have eaten all over the world and will always hold Sushi/Izakaya Den as the gold standard.

We spent our 29th anniversary here and had an AMAZING meal. We hadn't been before and Skylar did a wonderful job going over everything, including his "not to miss" dishes and EVERYTHING was perfect. Both the pork and Kobe beef dumplings were among the best we have ever had and our meals were just as delicious. We had a few of the cocktails and they were also wonderful! It's always a risk spending a special evening at a restaurant you've never been to before, but I am so glad we took the chance because it was the perfect start to our anniversary evening and we will be back!
