The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks. The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas. There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

In 2017 Holly and Ali moved down to Plymouth for a new life away from London. Passion for all things pizza and years of hospitality life brought about Knead pizza.Starting in Plymouth market and honing our skills to try and work out our perfect pizza. We moved into The LHA garden in 2019 due to that thing we wont mention and started cooking with flame. We got ever closer to cracking and adapting the truest of neopolitan style dough into a perfectly soft, neo neapolitan light and flavoursome crust. Now after a stroke of luck we’ve moved to the amazing Prysten House 1498. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth built by Thomas Yogge, with a real Tuscan villa vibe and courtyard, Grade 1 listed and also the inspiration for Yogge our new pizza pal.

We don’t eat out often as one of our family struggles with going to new places and loud places. And I will say the only negative I have about our evening was how noisy it was. We couldn’t hear our waitress and it felt super busy and hectic. But it did calm down about a third through our meal as that sitting of people finished and they left, and the atmosphere suddenly changed to relaxed. We did choose a Saturday night for our meal, so I guess we should have expected it to be busy! The hectic start didn’t have any effect on how good our waitress was, she was attentive but not annoyingly and we never had to wait a silly length of time. The food was amazing! The steak was cooked rare as we had asked, and was so tender and tasty! the triple cooked chips and green were also super tasty! My children had burgers which they said were up there with their top burger they’ve had out (it would have been top if the bun had been more toasted apparently!) and the mini doughnuts for pudding were just gorgeous!! We all had a lovely time and would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful meal at The Tartan fox. Amazing service, suoer waitresses and waiters, and great food. The only problem, is the chips were too oily, and tasted like they had been fried about 5 times. And made me feel ill. And it was very expensive for half a cabbage on the plate. As you have to pay extra for sides. But the taste is exquisite so you don't mind too much. Just mainly disappointed with the chips.

We really loved the simple, relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere at Stage. Our seat in the window was perfect to catch a glimpse of the sun on a winter’s day. All the waiting team knew their stuff and were friendly and approachable. We had the 4 course lunch with drinks flight which was interesting, carefully paired and pleasantly alcoholic without being too heavy for lunchtime. I loved the pig’s head fritter with pigs liver sauce - as an occasional meat eater it was extremely tasty. Our only criticism was that the pescatarian alternative to this dish didn’t seem to reflect the same taste values and complexity….although our son didn’t complain! We would highly recommend trying some of the bread as an extra side dish - light, fluffy and served with delicious butter. Perfect for mopping up sauces! We would definitely dine here again.
