We’re surrounded by wonderful local farmers and growers, and we aim to make the most of this by using locally-produced ingredients whenever possible. Our meat is sourced from our nearby family farm, and most of our fish is supplied by our very own fleet of fishing boats.Here at the Kings Arms, we serve a varied, locally-sourced menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner all available in the bar, conservatory and outdoor terraces.     Customer service and food excellent. Atmosphere relaxed and informal, staff know their stuff, work very hard to keep everyone happy. Menu choices good, portions just right. Really impressed. Will definitely return.

    A lovely visit. Our first outing as a family of 3. Greeted at the door in which we were helped in with the pram, asked where we preferred to sit which was lovely as we didn’t want to feel the pressure having a baby. Lovely food and great staff, thank you!!

    Second visit. First time having 6 courses (Sunday lunch service). All round excellent. The small kitchen is busy, industrious yet calm, efficient and creative. Front of house - Kate and Grace on this particular occasion - friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and super efficient. It’s pointless recounting what we had, because everything changes all the time. Just go with an open mind and prepare to enjoy everything that’s put in front of you. One piece of advice: always have the bread and, if you can and do drink, always have the exquisitely curated drinks pairing, the “flight”. This is Exeter’s (St. Leonard’s) genuine little gem. Long May it go from strength to strength. Sustainable, local, innovative, deliciously delightful.

    Visited the Balfour on Sunday with my wife and with my sister. We each opted for a starter, Sunday roast and a pudding and all three courses were absolutely outstanding. Never been here before but absolutely will come back again. Best roast I have had for years. Decent price, and really good, friendly atmosphere.
