- TtimLondon •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWent to Botanique for brunch last Saturday. Can safely say in 46 years of living this was the best brunch I’ve ever had. I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to after this gastro spectacular. We started with the rosemary and truffle polenta, the accompanying dips were incredible. However the 3 brunch plates we ordered between us (no judgement please) were incredible. Wild mushroom on focaccia with sunflower ricotta was a delight. Fresh and bursting with umami richness. Next the Benedict, with silky smooth hollandaise, smoked aubergine rusher, crispy kale and avocado was insane. Finally the pancakes which the hostess kindly split into two bowls. Wow. These pancakes were phenomenal, with maple, fruit compote, fresh strawberries, coconut yoghurt and almond brittle. Would highly recommend. It was part of our 52nd Wedding Anniversary celebrations, and went as a couple - having read the reviews and looking for something special. We had the "Tasting Menu" with the wine flight and were not at all disappointed. We had cheese soufflé and mussels to start while expecting the soufflé to be the best choice turns out the sauce for the mussels was probably the best either of us have ever had. Lamb and pork for mains were excellent and really interesting take on them. unfortunately no space for deserts despite how good they sounded. Next time we’ll forego the very nice bread and olives in an attempt to save room.
