- SSarahWarwickshire •3 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoMy parents were down for the weekend and we needed somewhere nice for Sunday lunch. We live in the Cotswolds but had never been here. It did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The fire was on and the pub had a great atmosphere. We all had the Sunday roasts. The beef was cooked to perfection and was extremely soft and tasty. Crispy roast potatoes but not overdone. Great portion size and the Yorkshire puddings were the size of baby’s head! You made my Father’s Day when he asked if there was any crackling left and the waitress came back with a little plateful! :) Would definitely recommend, especially as all food is sourced locally. Thank you for a very pleasant couple of hours.More infoThe Horse and Groom InnPrice: Expensive• Pub• Stow-on-the-Wold•4.7
- AAshleyBath/Somerset •4 reviews5.0Dined on 5 Nov 2024Booked online, never been before. Lovely pub with relaxed atmosphere. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, lamb’s kidney starter was epic. Steaks were delicious and well cooked. Overall good experience and well worth a visit. Thank you very much.More infoThe Stag at StowPrice: Expensive• British• Stow-on-the-Wold•4.5
- TTraceyOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review4.0Dined on 30 Oct 2024Beautiful setting - afternoon tea in front if an open fire. Staff were extremely courteous and attentive. The free chocolates for the birthday guest was a lovely touch! And there was unlimited tea. The standard scones were deliscious and the clotted cream to die for. Disappointing the jam was in jars not a dish, there was no butter and the birthday girl's gluten free scone was more like a biscuit than a scone - too thin and shattered when split. The cakes were OK but nothing special - carrot cake and chocolate brownies pretty basic, and for £85 for three I was expecting something a bit more special - maybe at least one cream cake. The gf sandwiches were too dry to eat. Overall a lovely afternoon sipping tea in front of the fire, but turned out to be not the best birthday treat for someone who's gluten free.More infoAfternoon Tea @ Holt HotelPrice: Moderate• Afternoon Tea• Bicester•4.6
- KKatrinelOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review5.0Dined on 27 Oct 2024We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰More infoDinner @ The Holt HotelPrice: Expensive• British• Bicester•4.2
- JjohnOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review4.0Dined on 6 Oct 2024We had a Sunday buffet lunch at the Holt as a second wedding anniversary celebration. The staff were lovely, those around 2 years ago remembering us which was lovely. It was probably the best buffet I have had. The range of veg was excellent. Thank you Holt.More infoLunch @ The Holt HotelPrice: Moderate• British• Bicester•4
