- MMattLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThe best Sunday lunch meal I have had in a pub. I cannot recommend the Red Lion more, the food and service were exceptionalMore infoRed Lion Inn - Shamley GreenPrice: Moderate• Pub• Guildford•4.7
- KKenDorset •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoGood parking availability. Friendly staff and they know their food, which they can explain what the dishes are. Very good service, staff kept checking and make sure your water are topped up. Good quality food, definitely enough for a normal person. Tried the fish and chips and it was perfectly cooked.More infoThe Loch & The Tyne by Adam HandlingPrice: Expensive• British• Windsor•4.7
- RRichardWest Sussex •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoThis was only our 2nd visit after fortuitously coming across the pub and restaurant. Living on the South Coast and having friends and family further north in the Home Counties, it’s an ideal location for a midpoint lunch within easy access to the M25. Nothing more welcoming than walking into an old pub on a cold miserable day and being greeted by an open fire and friendly staff. The restaurant was busy when we visited but its size limited the overall numbers, so noise didn’t become an issue for us (one of our small party has quite severe hearing difficulties ). Another open fire provided a very comfortable environment in ideal surroundings. Service was prompt, attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The menu wasn’t vast but the choice of food carefully considered for various tastes. The food ranged from simple pub to the usual more expensive steak dishes. For the 2nd time I stuck with the Calves liver and bacon - best I’ve ever experienced. All 4 of our meals were well presented and fair to say we all enjoyed what we ordered. My only complaint, common with many restaurants, was that I was served with what seemed like a thimble full of custard for my mixed fruit crumble. Don’t really understand why restaurants don’t get it that often us oldies choose that type of old fashioned pudding as much for the custard as what lies below! The Chequers certainly isn’t the cheapest place you’ll ever eat in but the so many pluses it has to be an overall 5 star from us.More infoThe Chequers RowhookPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Horsham•4.5

- CLCarolynLvipSurrey •12 reviews4.0Dined on 31 Jan 2024Just personal comments on our choice of food - the terrine starter of parma ham and chicken was too dry and therefore quite difficult to eat. It was also accompanied by dry, very crispy toasted bread. It needed maybe a mayonnaise or some moisture! In contrast the mushroom and leek risotto was excellent - nicely presented and delicious.More infoThe Richard OnslowPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Cranleigh•4.3
