Everything appears easy going at restaurant level and we haven’t been disappointed yet. Would be happy to return and would be happy to recommend to friends and family.More infoLasalPrice: Moderate• Spanish• New Town•4.8
- AAlexEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoMy girlfriend had been wanting lobster for nearly a year and we couldn't find anywhere for it but she said herself upon eating here "this is the best thing I've ever tasted". It made her day honestly and the staff were amazing! We had a few staff members come over, they were all lovely and served with a smile- I had the sirloin steak and it was perfect, obviously my girlfriend had the lobster and absolutely loved it. Cocktails were delicious too, and it was lovely to have water on the table throughout, they were very attentive and kept the refill glass full. We will absolutely be back, my girlfriend even asked me when we would be 😂 Thank you hawksmoor for a lovely meal, and for a delicious steak and lobster.More infoHawksmoor EdinburghPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Edinburgh•4.5
- JJulieGlasgow/Lanarkshire •2 reviews5.0Dined on 7 Feb 2025Ideal for a light bite before the theatre. Stylish & modern with a lovely friendly atmosphere - thanks to the staff who are outstanding. We shared a selection of small plates all of which were delicious - we had checked out the menu online but no timings are recorded so we did think the sandwiches might have been available (only until 3pm) - perhaps adding the times to the online menu would be helpful. I have access needs so booked in advance - this is recommended as space on the ground floor is limited but the facilities are very good. I’m not often in this part of town but trips to the Playhouse now go hand in hand with a stop in Little Picardy and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.More infoLittle PicardyPrice: Moderate• Cocktail Bar• New Town•4.2
- CColinSan Francisco Bay Area •4 reviews5.0Dined on 8 Jan 2025Wow, that was some afternoon tea. My wife and I like the occasional afternoon tea and this is right up there with the best of them. The choice of drinks was good and quickly replenished by courteous and attentive staff. To be fair though we were the only ones there. The food was amazing. The hot savoury dishes were unusual but not too weird, feta and red onion quiche (my favourite) and a black haggis & red onion sausage roll. The sandwiches were more traditional but still made really well. There were two plain and two fruit scones which were smaller than you'd usually have but by the time I'd got to my second one this didn't seem like a problem. Finally there was a lovely selection of 'wee cakes', these were taken back to our room to be consumed later as by the time we got to them we were really quite full. They were still lovely hours later. All in all this was a superb afternoon tea. All of the ingredients seemed excellent. All items were carefully placed and thoughtfully displayed. The portions were also really good without looking too gluttonous. My only criticism is the location, the Snug is a lovely wee lounge, isolated from the outside world, but does not have the same feel as a well appointed restaurant or tea-room. In warmer weather though afternoon tea can be taken out in the roof garden (right next to the Snug) and I imagine this would make for a fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend Afternoon tea at the Glasshouse hotel.More infoThe Glasshouse Hotel, EdinburghPrice: Expensive• Scottish• Edinburgh•3.5
