- RRobertEdinburgh/Midlothian •5 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoNot our first visit but still nice to return. As we live in the West Country. Everything appears easy going at restaurant level and we haven’t been disappointed yet. Would be happy to return and would be happy to recommend to friends and family.More infoLasalPrice: Moderate• Spanish• New Town•4.8

Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Restaurant is lovely with ambient atmosphere. Will happily return.More info3 Blind MicePrice: Expensive• Pizzeria• Old Town•4.8
- CCarolynVIPLondon •44 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoWe enjoyed our food and the service was pleasant but a bit haphazard as the restaurant was so busy. For example, we had to ask for tap water three times and we were initially billed for 4 extra drinks.More infoMamma Roma RistorantePrice: Moderate• Italian• Leith Walk•4.7

- CColinSan Francisco Bay Area •4 reviews5.0Dined on 8 Jan 2025Wow, that was some afternoon tea. My wife and I like the occasional afternoon tea and this is right up there with the best of them. The choice of drinks was good and quickly replenished by courteous and attentive staff. To be fair though we were the only ones there. The food was amazing. The hot savoury dishes were unusual but not too weird, feta and red onion quiche (my favourite) and a black haggis & red onion sausage roll. The sandwiches were more traditional but still made really well. There were two plain and two fruit scones which were smaller than you'd usually have but by the time I'd got to my second one this didn't seem like a problem. Finally there was a lovely selection of 'wee cakes', these were taken back to our room to be consumed later as by the time we got to them we were really quite full. They were still lovely hours later. All in all this was a superb afternoon tea. All of the ingredients seemed excellent. All items were carefully placed and thoughtfully displayed. The portions were also really good without looking too gluttonous. My only criticism is the location, the Snug is a lovely wee lounge, isolated from the outside world, but does not have the same feel as a well appointed restaurant or tea-room. In warmer weather though afternoon tea can be taken out in the roof garden (right next to the Snug) and I imagine this would make for a fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend Afternoon tea at the Glasshouse hotel.More infoThe Glasshouse Hotel, EdinburghPrice: Expensive• Scottish• Edinburgh•3.5
