Best Dog Friendly Restaurants in Bury Green

We were a large party of 14 and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. With all the extras we ordered, clearing away and dealing with the variety of drinks orders. All with smiles on their faces. But on top of the great service from the moment we all arrived, the food was excellent! Very large plates full of roast dinners. All the extras of stuffing, gravy jugs and cauliflower cheese and not one part of our order was wrong and everything on the menu available. Once we also came to pay and leave they were still very accommodating and chatty and they made us all feel extremely welcome. Would highly recommend.

I love a pub Sunday roast and this was an excellent one! The pub is cosy and busy (the noise level did get a bit much as its dog and child friendly). Service was excellent, despite it being very busy and the food was great. It's on the more expensive side at over £20 BUT the portions were big, roast potatoes were good and there were lots of good vegetable sides.

The 25 minute journey to the axe and compasses is well worth making. On arrival you are greeted by happy, smiling staff and the food is delicious with an excellent choice from the menu. Recommend the roast beef on a Sunday. For the drivers amongst us there was a good selection of nonalcoholic drinks. Parking is great (no yellow lines).

Great food. Good amount of food per course. We had the crispy pork as starter and it was really great. Main was trio of meat roast. All the meat was great but the lamb was the star. The roast potato’s and pigs in blankets was really great. Desert was chocolate sausage roll portion is large and really great also. In all the food was really great.

The staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived and the food was the best pub food we’ve had. We went for the roast beef which included all trimmings and it was so flavourful. For desert we had the apple & rhubarb crumble and sticky toffee pudding. The portion sizes were very generous and again were both full of so much flavour. We will absolutely be booking again.
