This restaurant is full of character and is used at lunch times primarily, but in the evenings, it offers a cosy ambiance lit by candle light ideal for a more casual approach to dining. The Inn also offers an afternoon tea which is simply divine. Served between 2pm-5pm by prior bookings only. The Bar and Snug is a relaxed and super cosy space sticking with the old charm of the Inn which this part of the building offers. It has an impressive wood burning stove and is dog friendly.

Arrived !! The bar was really busy due to private party in the upstairs area , Shown straight to our table without asking would we like drinks in the bar .. had to ask for the wine list , when the wine arrived it was put on the table , with the twist top!! Never asked if we would like to taste !! However our choice of food was delicious!! We both had lamb shank , our desserts were also fabulous .. so compliments to the chef & kitchen team The DJ although great felt like we were at an Ibiza beach club , maybe next time we should check the music ambience , last time we came Ella Shaw was singing and it was perfect for the venue .. The staff are lovely and friendly maybe just tweak the finer things of service ..

We both chose the set menu. 3 courses with good options was excellent value for money. The prawn cocktail was particularly good. The highlight was the sticky toffee dessert which I can honestly say is the best I have ever had. Choices for the main course were not overly exciting but beautifully presented. I opted for the haddock served in a cheese sauce which I enjoyed. The service was excellent, friendly but non intrusive. The dining room was full yet we were served promptly and made to feel welcome. The dining room itself is a special treat overlooking the lake.

We had excellent food, sea bream and chicken, friendly and very service oriented staff. Unfortunately we got a Chinese couple next to us whose smacking, slurping and spitting of their starter was so loud and disgusting that we decided to leave earlier than planned … hope a better experience next time.
