Best Seafood Restaurants in Fairfield

A great vibe, happy people and delicious food. We sat with four people at a table that seemed to be for 10, we kept thinking other people would be seated with us but that did not happen. It's very loud and a little challenging if you have a hearing issue. Service was a bit slower than expected for the prices. Will definitely be back.

We sat outside in an igloo. Like a private dining room. It was cold outside, but warm in the igloo. Food, service, and value we're all excellent - as always. But sitting outside fixed the one gripe we had always had - too noisy. Sitting in the igloo made it perfect!

Our waiter, Michael , was very helpful in guiding us to our cocktail choices and explaining the menu. The tuna tartare was very fresh and abundant. The kettle chips were crispy and a great compliment to the tuna. The halibut was perfectly cooked, and tasted delightful with the mushrooms, shrimp, fingerling potatoes dressed in a lobster sauce. The pumpkin cocktail evoked the spirit of autumn. The bread pudding was elevated with blueberries and vanilla bean ice cream. All but the cocktail was part of the prix fixe menu. My wife and I had a lovely evening dining at South Bay for the first time. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the place has a fun vibe; upscale enough for a special occasion (there was a birthday, a first date, and parents visiting their college student around us) but relaxed enough for a spontaneous night out like ours was. We will definitely be back, with friends!

The ambient soundtrack, not heavy metal or rap but I caught Jon Bon Jovi in ther, tells you something about this restaurant’s schizophrenic identity. The menu is almost excessively wide-ranging, from wings to lobster, in an sattempt to appeal to all comers, yet the prices invite a somewhat higher-incomed clientele. The interior is hardscaped, with no sound-absorbing fabric in sight(except the napkins) amidst the poured flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and granite tabletops. The service was accomodating but slow at obvious transition points in the progression of the meal. Our order: appetizer of calamari was plentiful, oddly(for me) sprinkled with gorgonzola and drizzled with balsamic but delicious; an ahi tuna salad ( beautifully presented) and a clam and bacon flatbread that seemed a bit overdone/crispy. Two proseccos, a glass of pinot grigio and a bill of $120…. I want to try this location on a summer evening when there’s outdoor dining and enough light to enjoy the harborviews. Otherwise, it is not a top choice in several categories
