Overall: The food was excellent, the service impeccable, but the noise level was too high. It was difficult to hear our waiter as he offered up the specials of the day and for him to hear us when we responded. It was also impossible to keep up a conversation with the person sitting next to me due to the noise from several other tables. Atmosphere: I noticed some minimal attention to noise damping was done - small panels on the walls - but the ceiling is too hard a surface with too many reflective angles in it for that small effort to succeed. The only answer is more noise control (there was a reason restaurants used to be carpeted) or spacing out the diners more and having fewer customers in the dining room. Elimination of the glass, or even just drapes, over the front glass storefront windows, would also help. The white tablecloths and napkins are very nice, as was the sparkling glassware and silverware. The table didn't wobble. Prices: Are fair - but high. The food deserved the prices, but be forewarned, a couple will have a hard time leaving without a $150 bill for dinner. We expected it so it didn't put a damper on our wedding anniversary dinner - if we hadn't been forewarned, what appears to be a non-pretentious storefront restaurant, the prices might have been a damper on our celebration. Service: Was well-paced and we were never left wondering where our food was.. Food: I had the pork chop (excellent, and great mustard served with it), and my dining companion had the filet-mignon (excellent, and the sides were great also). Our only disappointment was the dinner roll - it was warm but hard and well past its prime. We'll be back. After our last experience with Brandl in Belmar we need an alternative for fine dining. Brandl kept us waiting 90 minutes after our reservation time before even placing our orders. They vastly overbooked, or allowed un-reserved diners in - whatever it made an early New Years Eve dinner into a late dinner. Not good Chris.

A great local restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. The four of us started with the seafood salad over a bed of veggies, Garlic shrimp, grilled romaine salad. Hubby had corn soup the we asked for 4 spoons so we can all get a taste. It was so good!! Dinners were halibut, crab cakes, lamb & I opted for the vegetarian risotto which was enough to feed the entire table! Dessert was even better.. chocolate ganache cake with a scoop of icecream, so yummy. Of course we had to end the night with Poached Pear’s Pear sorbet!! Although it was a cold night the sorbet was heavenly, completing our meal with a clear palette & full belly. 😋

Outstanding meal to celebrate an anniversary. Cajun calamari, shirt rib carpaccio, lamb shank special, filet mignon and NY strip special were all delicious.
