Positives: We were seated promptly and the chicken entree was delicious. Negatives: Whitefish had bones in it, whiskey sour was not good, server never noticed we wanted a second round of drinks (glasses were left empty throughout dinner).

Chef Sarah Stegner always delivers up great dishes with local ingredients and wonderful flavors. I ordered the deviled eggs appetizer and from the daily special menu the grilled jumbo shrimp on Casear special and the strawberry crepes. A fabulous meal and a memorable dinner.

The food wasn’t as good as normal. Ordered whitefish dry and well done. It came out soggy and oily. Had trouble eating it.

The ambience is nice - open and spacious especially the booths. Service was attentive and not interrupted by wait staff as in some restaurants. Prices are a little high but no more than all restaurants in this post pandemic era. Food quality is somewhat inconsistent. I had the mushroom veggie burger which was very good with a nice spinach and avocado salad but my friend had a very dull and boring fish and chips - looked like a square piece of thawed frozen slab of fish and a few large fries for 30 dollars or thereabouts - that was a disappointment.

We had a wonderful evening. Fantastic service, delicious food, and a lovely, welcoming environment. Prairie Grass Cafe is our “go to” restaurant for any occasion. I don’t normally eat steak at a restaurant but at Prairie Grass, the steaks are something special. The acorn squash special side was a huge hit too. With the great food, attentive and personable service, PGC is a gem.

Food quality is good and fresh. However very skimpy, burger came with literally two French fries. Service was aloof, server never checked on us for anything and was unfriendly. I would describe this restaurant as “underwhelming” with a high price point.

We had the best dinner on NYE! The Champagne Tasting with Pierre was so fun and our server Renny made dinner quite enjoyable. Everything we ordered was fabulous! Brussels sprouts, chicken wings, squash and the Waygu steak, one of the best we’ve ever had. Thank you, Prairie Grass!
