1922 ON THE SQUARE is your local steak and seafood favorite. Its’ newly renovated space that blends modern trends with hints of Art Deco glamour will take you through the years of a family legacy.

We feature tender sizzling steaks, and seasonal seafood such as Wild Salmon, Sea Bass and Ahi Tuna. Along with steak and seafood, our signature oysters, Wagyu beef burger, salads, vegetarian options and pasta dishes provide a variety for any guest. We take pride in using farm fresh products, and local and sustainably sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Our extensive wine list and handmade signature cocktails, both classic and modern, complement our unique menu. Signature cocktails and small plates are offered in our Natoma Lounge Bar, making it a destination of its own.     I went there Friday evening, 11/15/24, with five people. The drinks were good, but the food left something to be desired. My girlfriend and a lady with us shared the salmon dish. They said it was OK, and the couscous was not very good. The wife of another couple who was with us ordered the fish special. She sent it back because it had a funny odor. The waitress offered to replace it with another dish but said she didn't want anything else since the rest of us were already eating our meals. When the bill arrived the couple was still charged for the fish. They asked the waitress why they were charged for a meal that was not satisfactory. The waitresses checked with the manager and he said they were charged because they were offered another meal but refused it. Very poor policy in my opinion. We also noticed there was a 3 % fee for using a credit card. We were not told this ahead of time. Another poor policy since this is the only restaurant I know of that charges for using a credit card. We will not go back.

    Second time at 1922 in a week. Absolutely great food, service and atmosphere. Glad we have a community treasure back !!!

    Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She did a great job answering any menu questions and giving recommendations. We ordered appetizers, salads and main entrees and everything was delicious. We would especially recommend the steaks and caesar salad. The restaurant was full for the first half of our time there and it was quite loud. Once people started leaving (many were going to a show nearby), then the noise level was much better. We would definitely return the next time we are in the area!

    Great food, as always. Service was exceptional, even with them being incredibly busy before a concert at the Midland. Recommend the lobster bisque, the garlic bread, Natoma salad, and baby beef. Chocolate cake was delicious, too.

    Outstanding from the initial and consistent top notch service to the BEST meal I’ve had in years!! Each meal three six of us had was perfection! A gem in Newark, Ohio. Thank you!

    We went to the 1822 restaurant on the Newark, Ohio square before a Midland Theater show. The food took over an hour to come out, and when it did one entree was missing a side dish. The. Waitress was nice but had too many tables and the place was so loud you could barely hear the people in our party of four talking. Overall it was not a good experience.

    We sat in the bar so it was a little noisy. But the food was very good. I had the sea bass and it melted in my mouth. Heather our server was very attentive and friendly. It’s not a once a week restaurant because it’s a little pricey but definitely on the rotation of a go to restaurant!

    All of the food seemed to be reheated. Nothing tasted fresh. It also seemed to be overcooked. It was all dried out. Three separate meals and an appetizer were dry. Won’t be going back.
