   People generally assume this is an overpriced steak house and if you order 12 ounces of wagyu at !42ab ounce it certainly can be expensive. But you don’t have to order that. We go there occasionally so we don’t need to splurge,we just get what we’d like to eat. tonight umI ordered the vegetable risotto side and a small crab cake (and,sadly, two glasses of very good French wine). It was still expensive but the best risotto I’ve ever had , with enough to take home for lunch and a really excellent crab cake. And I didn’t really n we’d two glasses of wine… This night actually he the best restaurant I have ever enjoyed, including several Michelin starred, a bunch of top rated restaurants in NYC, and various excellent restaurants from Prague to Paris.

   Planned a surprise for my husband and I anniversary. First time here and we were sat by the kitchen entrance which was very cold and drafty. Server was incredibly slow with many errors. Didn't ask about allergies at all and my husband has a dairy allergy. She served us cheese bread and dairy butter. When I expressed the allergy she just took the bread away with no accommodation of plain bread. the drink we ordered on the menu we were told the tequila was all gone and had to wait even longer then for drinks. My chicken was incredibly dry my husband's steak cube dish was mostly just mushrooms and onions barely any meat. No recognition of our anniversary at all. I could have celebrate anywhere but I chose here and it seems they have no pride in that, wont return. Very sad experience.

   We had heard how good 401 Prime is and they didn't disappoint. The place is elegant, the staff is great and the food is amazing. Our waiter was so helpful and made the experience great. We look forward to our next dinner at 401 Prime.

   By far the best dining in the Lancaster area and beyond. The extensive wine selections from Italy, California, and Spain are just so impressive. The food selection and preparation is unmatched in the region. I was so proud of Lancaster to have this level of fine dining.

    The service from front of house , server, bar staff was exceptional. The kitchen dropped the ball and at this price point we won't be back. We have counted on 401 for excellent food and we're extremely disappointed. Called ahead for a rare prime rib and were promised one. Rib was basically diner quality, drowned in au jus to hide over cooking. My food was delicious but incorrect. Veggie soup was really mushroom soup and crab cake Mac and cheese was basic Mac and Cheese , no crab at all! It was valentines weekend but no more crowded than a usual summer Saturday night.. we were velour 40th wedding anniversary and could have gone anywhere but chose 401 and left very disappointed.
