   We celebrated Valentine’s Day this year at 6th and Vine. The ambience is great and it is nice and quiet. The service was great and we enjoyed our wine flight. The goat cheese salad was not to our expectations, but we really enjoyed the Poutine and scallop small plates.

   6th and Vine has always been one of our favorite places. The menu is diverse and the food is always good. The service is exceptional. Personally, I would like to see an American IPA on tap.

   $5 drink special was amazing- ya know, in this economy every little consideration helps! We had the bloody mary. Brie Appetizer was good too- loved the fruit. I had the smoked chicken thighs- what great flavor and charred/grilled cabbage....Ummm, we will be making the cabbage at home so good. Hubs had the short rib- he advised it was really good- well charred. Our only complaint is that the decor of 6th has gone from a kitschy artsy vibe to a bit tired and sad. We sat in the back which was not super appealing.

   We are out of towners that had Sunday brunch here a couple of weekends ago. Highly recommend. The staff is really fun and kind, food was great, interior is fun and eclectic. Mimosas were amazing.

   Service was great. A little delay on our food, but that was more on the ktichen. We had apps, so we were good. The best thing about the appetizers -- they come with plenty of things for dipping. A lot of times we have more dip than things to dip. Not the case here. The hummus and crab & artichole dip were excellent.

    A lovely space. Food was good, but not congruent with the price. However, I would be interested in trying again. We came in having high expectations based on reputation and friends in the community who have touted the freshness of ingredients and spotting the chef at our local farmers market. We ordered the creole stew, chicken thighs + cabbage, steak, salmon, and macaroni and cheese. Good flavors, interesting combinations, just not stellar like we were expecting. Ordered the khalua martini and a gin+honey+lemon cocktail. These were both delicious, not great presentation though. Made a specific request with seating and they placed us (4) in a cramped corner between two tables. We promptly moved to another. Server was kind and appeared sparsely which is what we preferred. We will come back and try again.
