Absolutely delicious food ! Great, fast service in a cozy, relaxing and very pleasant atmosphere. Our family of 6 (ages 14 to 82) loved every single dish of fresh, authentic Portuguese food. Thank you, A Taberna!!

It was our first time we had the Portuguese sausage as our appetizer I had the pork and shrimp dish and my husband got the swordfish. The food was delicious and the service was excellent . And for dessert we got the flan which was also delicious!

As a regular here was somewhat underwhelmed. Ordered the pork chop special which came out warm. Sides were warm, as well. I didn't want a reheated pork chop so ate as is. Also, waiter forgot our salad as first thing that was served was our entre. Waiter has been there forever, just an oversight.

A Taberna was a nice new place to try in Island Park after visiting the beach. The service was super attentive. Our food & drink orders all came quickly. Lots of unique traditional Portuguese style dishes. The grilled octopus appetizer was super tender with a slight smoky flavor. I had a hard time choosing between the seafood mix with green sauce or the Chef's specialty, Monkfish with shrimp and champagne sauce which was delicious but the champagne was milder and not as flavorful as the one I had at another local favorite Portuguese restaurant. Next time, I will try the seafood mix. My friend ordered the linguine with seafood in a cream sauce and it was delicious. The portions are very generous. I didn't have room for dessert.
