The staff is very pleasant, and the clientele is (when I was there) all Indian -- which means real, yummy, authentic Indian food. And it was. The menu is ambitious, with many pages of small print and a wide variety of options. I had the onion rava dosa, which was as good as homemade, and with the normal soup on the side. My suggestions for improvement? -- EVERYWHERE has non-dairy milk for coffee, chai, and lassi, except this place. Why? Most people of Asian and African extraction, and many of those with European ancestry, are lactose intolerant. There is no reason to exclude them when it comes to tasty drinks. Oat milk and soy milk are so easy to offer to customers. I loved that there is no pressure to clear tables and move the guests out of the restaurant, but the flip side of that is that every time you want to order something or ask a question, you have to flag down a waiter. It's a good restaurant in a good location (yay, parking!), and I think they will get even better with time. Definitely worth a look.

Four of us ate lunch there on Sunday. My friend's meal did not arrive for nearly 45 minutes, and only after I reminded our server and the kitchen several times. There are many other wonderful Indian restaurants in the Washington area. I won't be eating here again.

Outstanding South Indian food. The South Indian thali, plantain Bhajji and rose milk were out of the world.

Appetizers were good. The sambar was not good. Dosa was just ok, no flavor really. Hard to get a waiter. Overall, not going back.

This restaurant is not up to par as it was before. Food served cold even though we asked for it to be served hot. Puris were cold, so was most of the food except the hot coffee. Disappointing visit. Jodhpur is much better and we will be going there more often.

Lately inconsistent flavor of food. Sambal has not been authentically spiced to level of homemade South Indian level. Tastes more like plain daal. Rava masala dosa had chillies with no heat. In past it has always been so tasty ... this needs to be addressed so not go to the many newly opened dosa restaurants Service is always great, fast & efficient Ambience is very nice
