Birthday. Afternoon tea - very pricey at £21 (inc glass of Prosecco). Only one portion of cream between 3 of us. And it wasn’t clotted. Disappointing experience

This is the second year we have been for Christmas Afternoon Tea, last year was much better, more people in to create atmosphere, better service and when we pre-ordered a vegetarian order for one of the party, the sandwiches were appropriate not this time. The food was very nicely presented etc. but the overall experience was not so good, don't think we will do a third year.

Easy booking system with confirmation email. Sea view setting is exceptional. Welcoming arrival receptionist and pleasant and attentive staff. Tasty and good variety of sandwiches. Good choice of cakes, except the scone was crusty (over baked?); no meringues. Nice blend of tea. The whole experience is well worth our long drive, and we hope to return.

Quite disappointed, the scones were hard and bread was a little stale. No welsh butter supplied with bara brith, we had to ask for it. Nobody else in the restaurant and there was a cleaner brushing the floors around our table. We often treat ourselves to afternoon tea at lots of places, including the Grosvenor in Chester but I can honestly say that this was the poorest we’ve been to. Maybe we just expected too much as it was a Bryn Williams establishment.
