My complaint was the service, I had reservations for 3:00 pm, by the time we were seated it was 3:10, and people who were seated after us were served promptly. Our server didn’t even come to the table until 3:30 and we finally got our tea at 3:40. When I mentioned to her that her service was slow, she didn’t offer an apology. When we paid she stood in such a way to see if she was getting a tip, which I did, but on the lower end. I’m sorry but service was horrible, and that makes up half the experience. The tea and food were very good.

If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience that combines a hauntingly good atmosphere with absolutely delicious food, the Haunted High Tea at the Old Mill Toronto is a must! From the moment we walked into the historic venue, the setting was perfect – beautifully decorated with gothic accents, flickering candles, and just the right amount of eerie vibes to get you in the Halloween spirit. You could feel the history of the building, which only added to the whole ghostly charm! The tea selection was fantastic, with a variety of flavors that catered to every taste, from classic Earl Grey to a Peaches and Cream blend. The food was where the experience truly shined – each tier of goodies was as delightful as it was spooky. The sandwiches and desserts were crafted with care, and the flavours were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Special shout-out to the scones, which were a wild ride for my tastebuds! Cheese and pumpkin?! Ube and white chocolate?! How do they come up with this? Every single bite was delicious and they even catered to my gluten free diet! The staff really got into the theme, too, adding a fun and playful element to the experience. They shared stories of the Old Mill's "haunted history," which was a great touch and made everything feel authentic. Overall, it was such a cool event that perfectly captured the spooky season while delivering an elevated, gourmet high tea experience. I’d highly recommend the Haunted High Tea to anyone looking for a unique, memorable way to celebrate Halloween or simply enjoy a fantastic tea service in a unique, historic setting. 👻🍂🫖

The experience was not satisfactory. My guest and I were under the impression the event would include hosts telling ghost stories. There were no stories and the overall experience was not worth $70 per person. The food was fine but nothing exceptional for the cost. The server was attentive and pleasant, the only positive review I would give. I would not recommend the experience to other people.

We booked the High Tea Halloween experience as we enjoyed it last year, but found it very mediocre. Service was not attentive, had to ask multiple times to just get a drink to get us started. Servers did not introduce the food and explain the elements which is normally something you expect from a quality high tea. Scones were very small. There was no clotted cream for the scones. Jam for scones came from manufactured small jars which you get for breakfast in any hotel. Some of the sandwiches were dry. I don't often write reviews and I know I might sound a little precious here - but for the price we paid and the expectations you have for quality from the Old Mill, this was not up to par and we will not come back for High Tea here. Hopefully they can improve as The Old Mill is an amazing establishment and part of the history of Toronto. I was there with my 92 year old mom who has been coming for 60+ years.... we were talking about how she used to come to weekend dances, she celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary and her 90th birthday at The Old Mill. She was disappointed yesterday and we agreed to write a review.

Such a beautiful building. The tea area was lovely but dark in the part we sat. They call each party and seem to seat everyone according to their own set up. We wish communication was better since we explained it was our first time. The person that brought us to the table explained the menu so quick and and her voice was so low then left. it was not clear there was only 1 type of tea bag per person included until after. Along how they serve anything since its not done restaurant style. Aside from that its a nice experience overall.

Five friends celebrated a birthday with afternoon tea at the quaint Old Mill. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, and most of the desserts were good. The servers did a fine job of taking care of us.

    1. scones should not be covered in caramel or stuffed with chocoate chips, they should be dry and ready to spread butter and or clotted creme/jam. 2. pinwheel sandwhiches should be make with flattened bread - not tortilla wrap 3. puffed pastry should be just that - creme inside and NO confectionary topping If you are going to advertise "high tea" then keep it as such. Most of food was way overrepresented with sweet crap covering what is supposed to be neutral or savoury. Leave the desert pieces for desert.
