They forgot to serve our tea so we started the experience without tea and ask for it. At the end the waitress gave a stain on my husband's blouse. But overall it was a very nice exprerience in a beautiful space.

What a Nightmare! Absolutely shocking experience. We had a reservation but still ended up waiting 52 minutes to get seated. And it didn’t get any better after that—it took another 40 minutes just to get our tea. To be fair, the food and drinks were decent, but they’re not nearly good enough to justify that kind of wait. Loads of other people were having the same issue; some were even asking to see the manager. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

A disappointing experience. Despite booking many weeks ago our table was not available and there was a long queue in a very narrow space. We were seated c25 minutes late no apology was given. Our party had 2 different types of tea both were very weak and not very pleasant to drink. Food was ok but nothing special compared to other afternoon teas we have experienced. All the food came out at the same time so the table was very crowded and we couldn’t see each other across the 3 stands. All in all we would not recommend or visit again.

We had booked a table for 2.30pm. When we arrived, there was a long queue. I asked people in the queue, if they had booked. They all said yes. They must of been running late. We finally got seated around 3pm. Our train home was at 5pm. It was packed. It was very rushed which is a disappointment. The food was lovely. Our scones were cold when we came to them as they were brought out at the same time. I think they could of offered customers a glass of Prosecco as an apology for running late but unfortunately it all felt a little chaotic. I understand it was a busy Saturday but we were looking forward to getting away from the crowds and enjoying a peaceful afternoon tea.

Great afternoon tea but scones have been made too big and they had a strange aftertaste - too much baking soda used. Staff weren’t attentive at all, seemed to prioritise customers that also purchased alcohol. They wanted to charge for adding more hot water to the tea. The staff need to focus on serving a couple of tables each as they are serving all tables.

It was very busy and they couldn't wait to clear our table, we felt very rushed and not at all special. Requests were met with a very serious and displeased face, certainly didn't agree to the 15% service charge added at the end

Wonderful service and very instagramable location within Borough market. Everyone was so lovely but I would say this tea is not the most flavorful. Think it’s more for tourists from the states that want to feel like they were being different.

A few of us have been testing out afternoon teas around the capital and agree that the food at Roast, especially the savoury selection, was the best we've had, and there was plenty of it. There was also a good selection of decent teas. However, it was 45 minutes between getting the tea and getting the food, and we were not offered any top ups at all - not even water for the tea. It was very busy, but given that most people, if not all, will have booked ahead they should have been geared up to cope. Lots of hard surfaces have been softened with decorations that look terrific, but don't soften the sound from large parties of closely packed tables - don't come here for intimate conversation, do come for the buzz (and the scotch eggs!)

I had booked the afternoon tea well in advance, and twice requested a seating in a quiet location .My daughter and I was placed rigth next to the kitchen, is was so noisy and stressfull, The restaurant was fully packed, so no other seats was available. The staff was attentive, but it also felt like a money-machine, where the sooner they could get us out again, and sell the table to new guestes, the better. The restaurant for sure is Instagram worthy with a nice look, but it is lacking some soul and heart. The food was tasteless and dry, there were two fair cakes, but overall it was not a great experince.
