The lofty views of the City of London outweighs the taste of the food, which was basic at best and did not correspond with the ambience & luxury decor.

Unfortunately I was disappointed in the overall service as well as the selection of "Festive" treats. There seemed to be may staff 'floating' around but not consistent. Each of the sweet items (apart from the scones) were all very similar in texture and mousse-like. Considering it was supposed to be a Festive Afternoon Tea I didn't feel the decor / table or surroundings was festive - apart from the entrance into the Ting. Definitely not worth the price I paid unfortunately, although we are most likely paying for the view.....

We really enjoyed our festive afternoon tea experience at Ting, Shangri La. It is a beautiful cosy restaurant and the service was impeccable. However, all of the sandwiches were dry and had hardly any filling in them, the flavours were also quite bland especially in the rolls with the hummus and parsnip fillings. The scones and cakes were all lovely and tasted wonderful. If they were to change the sandwiches and rolls, I would give 10/10 in the review.

Everything was absolutely amazing, the food, the teas, the view, the people working there. However we did not expect the 15% service charge to be added to the price. But be had a wonderful time and do not regret at all to have chosen the Shangri-La for our tea time in London.

We booked for 1515, we were made to stand and wait for our table, which took 25 minutes so we weren’t sat until 1540. There was no apology and they didn’t offer to take our bags and coats, despite doing that for other guests in front of us. The glass of champagne was half a glass when it arrived, which was over half way through our meal! The server was lovely but not attentive enough. Our food was delivered at 1550 and by 1625 we were being asked for last orders of sandwiches and scones, when we hadn’t even got around to eating the cakes yet. We asked for more cakes about 1650 and were told we were too late for more, yet we’d only been sat down for an hour and weren’t told it was also last orders for cakes. They brought us our bill at 1700 and started cleaning up around us, including hoovering; less than two hours into our afternoon tea we were being forced to leave. We have been to most of the afternoon teas in London, and whilst the food was good quality, the overall experience was poor. I would not come back again and would not recommend. There are much better options available.
