Located at 40 Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Alden & Harlow serves thoughtfully sourced, honest American food in a subterranean, modern and comfortable space. Replicating the style of cooking he does for family and friends in his home kitchen, Chef Michael Scelfo prepares humble, unpretentious food that honors tradition of place in its quality. It's how he connects with anyone who joins them at their table.

While reservations are strongly suggested, we also save a portion of the dining room and bar for walk-ins in the event that your request cannot be accommodated. So please, come on in!

We had a wonderful time and so enjoyed our shared plates! The Focaccia, pickled corn pancakes, patatas bravas & grilled NY Strip were our choices. They all were amazing and true perfection! We shared the key lime mousse & smoked chocolate bread pudding for dessert which were equally outstanding! Can’t wait to return to our new favorite spot! Thanks for a perfect night!

Expensive for what you get (even for Cambridge). The food is fine but nothing special. Avoid the bacon, it tastes strange. Portions are quite small, with the exception of the pancakes and French toast. The service is excellent, however, and the ambience is nice. It’s a decent option for brunch but try not to come too hungry.

Brussels sprouts were AMAZING! 11/10 perfect A Lot of things we wanted to try from the menu. Squash was excellent, halloumi flavor profile was good but the cheese itself wasn’t perfect texturally, pork belly + beef a la plancha were both good nothing special.

Lovely place, but extremely close quarters in ding room and very loud. We ended up at the bar which was fine. Rest of space not great unless you want to shout and don’t care if everyone hears you. Not a place for a first date!

Get the cinnamon bun! Shakshouka doesn’t compare to Tatte Avocado toast to die for Benedict very good Pleasant staff, cool vibe
