With floor-to-ceiling windows, large-scale original artwork, and cozy wood finishes, we at Aleksandar strive to marry Old World authenticity and modern culinary flare. We went for the first day of Restaurant Week to try this restaurant for the first time. Due to the snowstorm and Eagles game, the place was empty. The room is beautifully decorated with art work done by the owner's mother. We started with the pierogis, which were excellent, and lobster ravioli, which were good but the sauce overpowered the flavor of the ravioli. We both had the scallops, which were perfectly cooked and served over a tasty spring risotto. The chocolate mousse cake was as decadent as expected, but we both agreed that the creme brulee cheesecake was the better of the two dessert offerings. We will definitely be back to try the regular menu, which is not available during Restaurant Week.

We will definitely add this restaurant to our “must go to” restaurants list in Philadelphia. We had lunch here for Center City Restaurant Week and we’re so pleased with the food and service. Ambiance was elegant without being stuffy or pretentious. The food was delicious and imaginative with excellent portions. We lingered there with their delicious cocktails. This restaurant would be good for a business meal or meal with the parents or just a nice meal. Can’t wait to go back.

It was a wonderfully crowded night at Aleksandar. I enjoyed the mussels and the salmon - both were superb. I am looking forward visiting again during restaurant week.

An incredible Saturday brunch! The food is incredible. You must try the pierogies! The short rib Benedict is such a great twist on both foods and it is super delicious. The service was amazing and it’s definitely my new spot.

Food was delicious and appetizers (deviled eggs, milk buns, perogies) were enjoyed by all. Interesting cocktails and non-alc options were available. We hosted an interview candidate considering Philadelphia and were happy to show off this great restaurant as part of the intinerary!

I’m giving Aleksandar a 40-star rating because I hosted a party of 8 for lunch and everyone had an outstanding experience. We liked having the option of lunch or brunch menus. We were seated at a curved table with a banquette on one side and chairs on the other. This made it possible for all the guests to see and converse with one another. Our server David was friendly and not intrusive. The food was beautifully and imaginatively presented and totally delicious. The chocolate cake is one of the best I’ve ever had! Totally positive experience and so much more polished and personal than other restaurants on Rittenhouse Square. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Alexander. The prix fixe selections were wonderful, and the purple sweet potato soup was a wonderful variation from the regular menu. The cheesecake capped things off perfectly.

Great service from a very attentive and friendly wait staff. Food was innovative, nicely presented and delicious. The atmosphere is lively and a bit noisy in a festive way. Nice location just a short walk from Rittenhouse park.

We have dined twice recently at Aleksandar, and both times everything was exquisite. The staff are welcoming and well informed. The dishes are thoughtfully conceived, beautifully presented, and scrumptious. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Highly recommended.!
