Alla Famiglia has been delighting local and traveled guests in this very same location for over two decades. This "diamond in the rough" is conveniently located on the hilltop of Pittsburgh's South Side. Boasting a fine dining atmosphere, its family owned and operated, and promises to deliver a consistent product with every visit. You will be greeted and treated like family, as you enjoy homemade scratch Italian specialties, an award winning wine list, and complex scratch cocktails. Dine in an old world atmosphere under paddle fans, exposed brick, antiquities from all around the world. Six unique and interestingly decorated dining rooms comprises the character of this institution which started with just 8 tables, 25 years ago. Choose from daily provisioned fishes and exotics from the sea, dry and wet aged Prime beef, tender milk fed veal, and homemade maccheroni are just some of the choices you will have to select from. Crown the evening with our pastries prepared on site.

Our first time. It was incredible. We were in a room of only 3 tables so the most level was great but much of the restaurant does seem like it could be louder. Our waitress, Lizzie, was awesome. She was attentive and took time to go though the menu and explain things to us, since it was out first time Good was outstanding. Plenty leftovers to take home. Had the Caesar salad, pasta with vodka sauce, cacao e pepe made in the cheese wheel, break medallions work crab on top and seafood diavola.

First visit to this location. We thought everything was subpar as compared to their other location. Service was less attentive. Portions were smaller. Too much pepper in Caesar salad.

The wine dinner was unique, the food was not to my liking - beef tongue, chicken liver, veal kidney - were the interesting dishes. Alla famiglia's food on their restaurant menu is fantastic, so do not let this deter your restaurant experience. This wine dinner I would not recommend - however the wine was fantastic, and the ambiance, service was exceptional. They were accommodating and let us order from the main menu since we were still hungry. Make sure to view the menu of the wine dinner before to make sure it is something you would be interested in. For 400.00 I would have rather had the fantastic cacio e pepe, marsala dishes, meatball appetizer.

As usual , we had a fabulous experience eating at the bar at Alla Famiglia! Clinton is the best bartender and server and makes the meal memorable! The Last Supper Special on Monday is consistently delicious and one of our favorites!

It was a great evening. The food was amazing! The room was toward the back, it was cozy and quiet. The lighting could have been a little brighter. It was difficult to read the menu.

Great food and drink. We sat at the bar and had great interaction with our waiter/ bar tender. We ordered the Casa salad and the dressing was amazing. We both got pasta dishes that were rich and creamy in flavor. Would definitely come back to this restaurant
