We were there to celebrate Xmas and all tables around us have been waiting for an hour for anything - even appetizers. To have the gall of sending a reminder the day before prohibiting any cancellations when the manager failed to arrange enough employees, or assist the employees when they felt overwhelmed. I say felt overwhelmed not actually overwhelmed because there were actually around 1 staff every 3-4 tables and all clients were rather patient, and yet nothing worked. Tables were tiny and yet they decided to put big Christmas centrepiece that took up 1/5 of the table. Also, the space was echoey, The saving grace is that the food was passable - even the baked brie, which was bizarrely a dessert. Horrid experience and very much below the standards of what is expected of an intercontinental experience.

Th staff was totally under trained. Understaffed. Didn’t know their wine list. Forgot to bring silverware and on and on! Worse dinning experience in Melbourne. Christmas Eve and they couldn’t find batteries to put in the table decorations!! Just awful!

Overall ambience and experience was great. A few issues with some hot foods being cold. Poached eggs were pre-prepared and sitting on a cloth. Pancakes were pre-prepared and were cold and dry. With a few tweaks this breakfast could be a lot better.

Senior Staff did not enjoy this restaurant. One said it was ok and the other said it was crap. I won't be booking this again.

The dinner itself was fine. I asked for three different wines, the first two were not available, third one was. The service was hit and miss, empty entree plates must have sat there for a good 15 to 20 minutes. The restaurant was not busy. The rest of the dinner flowed well. In summary it was ok. Don’t think I’ll be rushing back there.

The cream that was served with the scones was terrible !!! I don’t understand why we didn’t just get fresh cream it honestly tasted like it had Parmesan cheese in it, the texture was so wrong and did not suit the simplicity of a lovely traditional scone. Also a suggestion when serving tea it would be nicer to serve tea with loose leaf tea leaves instead of tea bags. Overall it was a lovely afternoon
