We usually go to Almresi every trip to Vail, but we will be rethinking if we go in the future. First, the best item on the menu for the past several years was the Mountain salad which is not available. Second, the entrees on the menu were the same, however, the quality of the two entrees we had were not as good.

Tables are too close to each other, you are two feet from tables on the left and right.

The food was decent overall, not great. Cheese fondue appetizer is a huge letdown. No traditional flame underneath and weak options for dipping. The schnitzel was mediocre, as was the short rib, but the pork shank was delicious, although the accompanying sauerkraut was overcooked / very mushy and needed vinegar. Kids and new items were few in number and not good. Wine list is minimal and disappointing. The sever help who opened out bottle of red poured tasting into my white wine glass and I had to explain to him that he needed to bring 2 fresh glasses for my wife and me. After pouring, he re-corked the bottle - clearly didn’t know what he was supposed to do / not trained. I do not recommend Almresi.

We started with a Pilsner and Cosmo (Best Cosmo I’ve ever had!) then had the fondue appetizer and giant pretzel. All three of us had the schnitzel and we shared apple strudel to finish things off. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and the atmosphere cozy.
