Situated in the Carmel Plaza in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, our bistro offers beers from our R&D program crafted on a pilot five barrel brewhouse - the only of its kind in one of the most picturesque and famed coastal towns in the country. Featuring an expansive, 60+ seat outdoor patio and a full bar, along with an ample dining room that can be sectionalized for private events. And the food! The Bistro offers California coastal cuisine with a regional twist, utilizing locally sourced ingredients that vary with the season.

We sat on the patio with our large dog- it was a cool, lovely evening! Fish/chips were wonderful and the Beet Salad is flavorful and fantastic! Yummy experience!

We sat outside as we had our dog with us. The service and food very good. I had the hummus plate and my husband had the burger. We both enjoyed our meals.

Our server was polite and seemed to be attentive, though he did get my husband’s order wrong. We’re used to sitting outside which is more lively and interesting but chose to sit inside due to the cool evening. I’d recommend sitting outside where you can watch the world go by!

Had a great night here at Alvarado! I enjoyed a couple of the “master of disguise” cocktails. Me and the wife shared the calamari and the old town pizza. Both were really good and ended up taking some leftovers home. Definitely be back to try more of the menu!

My wife and I wanted a light meal and found this restaurant. We had the Grilled Peaches and Beets salad and the Old Town Pizza (had hot honey) and both were very tasty. Service (server was Houston) was very good. Very happy with our choice.

Overall is was a good restaurant, however the kitchen lost our ticket and our food was delayed for quite a while. It would have been nice if the server had offer us some bread/butter, dessert or comp'd us for one our drinks.

This place is wonderful. SOOOO Dog friendly, Staff is very pleasant, beer is wonderful, food is great and the price is great.. We love this place. Cannot wait to go back.
