We dined at Ammoora last night to celebrate New Year’s Eve as a party of four. While we’ve always appreciated the delicious food here—and it was just as amazing this time—the service and overall experience left us disappointed. Our reservation was for 6:45 PM, with a two-hour seating limit. Unfortunately, the wait times were excessive throughout the evening. It took far too long for our drinks to arrive, and the wait for our food was even longer. Toward the end, we ordered tea, which took nearly 35 minutes to reach our table. Additionally, the payment process added unnecessary frustration. We had to put down a $600 deposit when booking, which we understood was to secure the table. However, it felt as though the restaurant tried to charge each of us $150, effectively keeping the deposit as part of the final bill. While the issue was eventually resolved, it added an awkward and sour note to an already challenging evening. To be fair, it seemed the restaurant was short-staffed, which may have contributed to the delays, but this should have been addressed ahead of such a busy evening. When you’re paying a premium for a special occasion, the service should reflect the price point and expectations. In summary, while the food was excellent, the slow service, delays, and confusion with payment overshadowed what should have been a memorable New Year’s Eve. We hope they address these issues moving forward.

Booked the NYE reservations for 4. Put down $150 DEPOSIT per person to make the booking, so $600 total. (Per the confirmation email: Total$600.00 This deposit secures your reservation and will be applied to your final bill.) Pricey but figured we would get whatever we didn't spend back... Food was good, but nothing special. Service was terrible. Sat the 4 of us at an oversized table, with a huge floral display in the center which blocked the view of the person across from you. The only table with this type of center piece. The waiter disappeared for long periods of time and rarely checked in. Only had the chance to get one drink he took so long. Three dinners were delivered, and came to ask if they hadn't brought the 4th... Which they clearly hadn't. Then it took another 5 to 10 minutes to get the last meal. Then the bill came...we had spent $420ish. We asked the waiter if we just got the rest back and he said he had to ask the manager. The manager came and told us we had to use the rest or we could get bottles of wine to go to fill in the rest of the amount. Nowhere on the website when making the reservation did it say that. A reservation I made here on Opentable... Asked if we could get a gift card, and was told no. Chose two bottles of wine, the bill came with automatic 20% gratuity added which was for 6 people even though we only had 4. (Per their website: automatic gratuity and services - Kindly note that for parties of 6 or more, an automatic gratuity will be added to your bill. Any additional service fees to enhance your visit will be communicated by our guest concierge.) Again, service was not good enough to warrant that type of tip. Had the manager run the bill without the tip, he brought back two receipts, one with the tip and one without. Neither had signature blocks.... Signed the one with no tip and left. Very scammy and don't recommend.

This was my first time going to Ammoora, and sadly I will not be back. The food was good, but the service was horrible. It was New Year’s Eve, so I understand that it’s busy, but we waited over an hour to have a waiter come to our table and were trapped there for 3 hours. When we approached the manager, they just made excuses and did not seek to make things right. They did nothing to make amends for the bad service, which is a standard expectation when you’re paying for a fine dining experience. I was very disappointed in my experience and would not recommend going.

We had a brilliant experience. Me and my wife were there for a date night. We tried their "Silk Road Journey Experience". It started with their spreads. The Muhamara, Beet Mutabal and the Baba Ghanouj are worthy of a special mention. Then we had our Mezze. We tried the Mousakhan Chicken Rolls and the Kebbet Karaz. Both of them were amazing. We went towards the entree and we tried the Kebab Antabli and the Shish Tawouk. The Shisk Tawouk was outstanding. For the drinks we tried the Araks. This was our first time and I must say we will be drinking Arak for a while. It was a really good experience.

The food and atmosphere are unmatched. My singular qualm was that we waited at the host stand for a solid 7 minutes before anybody came to speak to us (the host was on the phone). I’m a retired hostess so in fairness, I’m extra picky but I did find this a bit odd, particularly given that the bartenders also ignored us the entire time. I’m unsurprised that the NYT named Ammoora the best restaurant in Baltimore! The food is truly spectacular.

Ammoora in Baltimore was a fantastic dining experience with authentic, flavorful dishes. Highlights included the smooth hummus, smoky Baba Ghanoush, and perfectly spiced Shish Tawook. The Levantine Layers dessert, paired with complimentary dessert wine from the attentive manager Aiman, was a perfect finish. Great food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service—highly recommended!

This is the 3rd time I’ve dined at Ammoora and I was not disappointed. Dining here is an amazing experience from the time you enter the restaurant and are greeted by the hostess. There were three of us and we ordered multiple appetizers, main courses and desserts. The starters included an order of hummus and warm pita bread. I have it’s the best hummus I’ve ever eaten. All the main courses were amazing. The most amazing was the fall of the bone short rib. I had the kofta kebabs I highly recommend. Our server was exceptional. Gigi was very professional and was extremely helpful explaining the menu. If you have a chance and want to try Syrian cuisine, look no further than Ammoora.
