Arden is an idyllic retreat tucked into Portland's Pearl District. Arden delivers seasonal Pacific Northwest cuisine and an award-winning wine program featuring over 250 bottles, many with bottle age. Guests have the option to dine a la carte or enjoy the chef's prix fixe menu ($70): a shared experience that features 4 courses of seasonal cuisine. Coursed wine pairings are also available ($45).

Arden is named in homage to Shakespeare's famous forest - a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and appreciate nature's bounty and beauty. The restaurant invites you to take an exiting culinary adventure through the Pacific Northwest, and explore the incredible range of ingredients that the region has to offer.

Arden never disappoints. This little gem of a spot offers seasonal cuisine, French inspired, but completely accessible. Nicholas is AMAZING (he will provide you with some truly amazing wine pairings) and the chef's combinations are exquisitely balanced, creative, and palette pleasing. See the chef expediting at the small counter and knowing that everything will be perfect is an experience not often found at this price point. This is a place where we are made to feel valued and welcomed, and the food leaves you contented and excited for the next culinary journey. I cannot say enough good things about Arden.

Arden remains my favorite restaurant in Portland! It never disappoints. Every dish is well-crafted, innovative and delicious. Service is warm and professional. The chef’s prix fixe menu is a ton of food and appropriately priced.

Dinner at Arden was wonderful. We were glad we chose the prix fixe menu with wine pairings because we got to taste so much of the menu along with some fabulous wines from their cellar. The kitchen fan is a bit noisy but eventually recedes into the background as you are absorbed into tasting every delicious morsel on your shared plates. Was it the shaved quince salad with pomegranate and burrata or the beet salad with tangy dressing or the root salad with seeds or the pasta and chanterelles or carrot filled dumplings or the savory halibut with a creamy curry broth or the cheesecake and cardamom/coffee ice cream that was our favorite? All of it was fab. Great service, nice ambiance, easy street parking (it was a Wednesday night). Easily the best meal I’ve had all year.

Spectacular food (price fixe menu and wine pairing) only outdone by the even more spectacular service (Nicolas was his name). Two operational definitions: the four diners cleaned every plate pit on the table AND, the two people paying the bill (we had a total of four diners) both independently and immediately decided to leave the biggest tip as a percentage we had ever done. We can’t wait to go back again.
