Art Yard Bar & Kitchen at Bankside Hotel, on London’s culturally vibrant Southbank, is a local neighbourhood restaurant & bar serving seasonal food and drinks in a creative environment.
This all-day dining hotspot offers a menu of casual, but elegantly presented dishes, with a focus on fresh seasonal food with vibrant and healthy dishes. Guests can immerse themselves in art, surrounded by masterpieces and murals, and even watch an artist at work in the adjoining Art Yard Maker’s Gallery.
Art Yard Bar is open all day for whatever you are in the mood for. Cocktails, playfully inspired by colour, coffee, wine, the list is endless and carefully curated to stir a sensory explosion.
Sharing its patch with some of London’s most iconic cultural institutions, including the Tate Modern, Southbank Centre and Shakespeare’s Globe, Art Yard is a great spot to relax and refuel before or after a cultural fix.
Art Yard Bar & Kitchen has a private dining room that can accommodate parties of 10- 24 guests for a seated meal. Menus available on request. In summer our Summer Terrace is available for private functions. With iconic views of St Pauls Cathedral, enjoy an event to remember for between 20 -60 guests. Art Yard Bar and Kitchen is in the same building as Bankside Hotel, which is next to One Blackfriars, on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge. The entrance to the restaurant is from the piazza off Blackfriars Rd.

Brunch at Art Yard also offers free-flowing culture inside and out. Inside art and murals adorn the walls, and then there’s the Maker’s Studio a permanent space where emerging artists can create and showcase their work. Downstairs in Bankside Hotel’s White Box visitors can browse ‘Nature’s Imprint’ an exhibition that explores environmental issues and sustainable living practices through art.
Signature serves include Burford Brown Bennies, Chef’s take on the egg classics, made with Burford Brown eggs and served on a rich croissant base. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s a creative taco-style pancake platter and an indulgent French Toast Tiramisu.
Menu items are priced individually, add bottomless drinks from £26 per person.

No Christmas Day would be complete without a full festive banquet and so for the big day Art Yard is offering a delicious family-style buffet menu. Platters of indulgent dishes including oysters, artichoke truffle, terrines and rillettes will be offered alongside traditional festive favourites such as turkey, pigs in blankets and trimmings. Art Yard’s Christmas Day festive feast is priced at £95pp or £35 per child (under 12).

The service, atmosphere, kids' meals and desserts were all excellent and we had a great time. The salads were bordering on scandalous especially the tuna nicoise at £24: there was hardly anything on the plate. The other salads weren't much better.

Service was terrible. No water. Forgot to bring our drinks. Too slow. Ox cheek was delicious but lamb was dry and overcooked. Mixed bag.

Amazing attentive service. Food absolutely delicious, excellent quality and beautifully presented and served .
Good value for money. We needed an early supper at 5pm before a theatre visit and was ideal. Well paced and not rushed . Reunion of 2 friends who had not met for 45 years, so special fuss made . Thoroughly recommend and would definitely go again .

Took way too long for service. Starters were flavorful, but the ribeye was disappointing (nice marbeling but too much tendon, and insufficiently seasoned) and the side salad (rocket & Parmesan) was similarly underwhelming. Ended up taking two hours for a dinner for one, when the restaurant was over half empty, so it wasn’t like they were overly busy with other tables…

You will not be disappointed dining at the Art Yard Bar and Kitchen.
I have had both lunch and dinner here before and on Saturday 20th, we had brunch and both the food and service were excellent.
It is also so conveniently positioned on the South Bank, next to Blackfriars Station.

$25 martinis and slow service. The food was excellence. It wasn’t crowded; not sure why the service, especially the drink service, was so slow. $25 for a gin martini is borderline ridiculous
