   Under new management, Louise our server was brilliant but the menu was very limited, not how it used to be. Many items were sold out at 6.30pm.! We got decent enough burgers and salad and soup in the end. The new owners have a lot of teething problems to sort out.

   Waitress forgot to put one of the mains through and when they served us one meal short left us hanging until we asked politely twice what was happening. 20 minutes later the meal arrived. I think she was embarrassed and tried to hide the fault but kept ignoring the table for drinks and so on. Disappointing as we were with our inlaws who are not pateint. A polite apology or just explain what is going on is all it would have taken. Staff in the pre converted Ashtons were better, this would never have happened.

   Service was good bar a 1 hour delay for our mains. Other people were seated and had two courses before ours arrived. When it did arrive, the only complaint was that the bacon was so hard it was almost inedible. The servers were polite and friendly and the food would be better value for money, if it arrived at a reasonable time and wasn’t burnt.

   The service was very leisurely considering how quiet the restaurant was on a Friday evening. The lasagne was very hot and tasty but was ruined by a very thick layer of cheese and an even thicker layer of sauce. The burger was tasty. We had 2 glasses of wine but 3 were added to the bill! We have eaten much better food there not long ago.

   Excellent food and service was very efficient. Staff were very friendly, pleasant and attentive. Would happily recommend Ashtons. Have celebrated numerous family occasions there are never been disappointed.

   Booked Ashton's on the recommendation of neighbours as a local pub doing good carvery lunch on a Sunday. We deliberately made the booking for 45 minutes before the carvery ending and on arrival 15 minutes early, we were told that the carvery had already finished for the day. This was an hour before the actual finish time (4 pm according to the website). The pub was very quiet at the time but we were assured that it was busier early in the day hence the reason the carvery was finished. We ate from the A La Carte menu and food was okay. When you are looking forward to a carvery lunch on a Sunday, lasagna and chips was never going to make up for it. Staff were super friendly and apologetic so I will give Ashton's a second chance. The decor in the pub is beautiful.

    Visited for a birthday lunch. Carvery was really good. Very generous portions and we all were very happy with our lunch. Staff very friendly and also helpful.
