Fantastic experience. We ordered the Fiesta all on menu. I was so full i could barely walk afterwards. Food is delicately done, well presented, very generous servings and so full of flavour. The chefs did a good job of giving you time to rest between each course of meal. The signature meal ( Beef Pares in Claypot rice)did not disappoint as it is actually the best dish for the night. I also enjoyed the Calamansi flavoured mocktail… We will surely be coming back next time! Thank you Askal for a wonderful tiime!

Food was great, a little overpriced when you look at the portions but all around I did enjoy the flavours. The service on the other hand was not what I was expecting. For a restaurant to apply that they are a fine dining experience I did not feel that at all. It seemed as though it was just my table but we were not looked after the way I expected. They sat us down and then just forgot about us. We waited about 20 minutes before I called someone over. If your fine dining give us 5-10mins to look over the drink menu then come back in another 10 if we are not ready to order food. I have been to “normal” restaurants where the service was 10x better than what we got here, and the fact that we ordered an entree and main and the cost being $120 it just was not worth it in my opinion and will probably not be back

I wasn’t impressed by our dining experience last night. We shared the Piyesta menu and overall, my impression of the flavour profiles was it was dominated by an overly generous use of coconut vinegar. And this particularly impacted the showpiece kare kare, which had none of the creamy, coconutty, sweet, peanutty flavour in its sauce. Instead, the dish was strangely bitterly salty as if it had been fermented with too much ampalaya. It was unpalatable to me and a real waste of wagyu (which was very tender), and the waiter, instead of probing to see if there was anything wrong with the clearly half-consumed dish between 3, simply asked the bland, “how’s everything?” and accepted my dining companions’ assurances and cleared the table. The leche flan was not complimented by the do/called Tanduay rum infused syrup which tasted more like burnt syrup than rum caramel. There was no coffee to order, only TEA BAG tea (this is an absolute travesty — this is not something you should be serving in a decent cafe let alone a restaurant). And to add insult to injury, we had to ask for milk not once, not twice but FIVE times and from 3 different waiters by which time my friend’s cup of tea was lukewarm. Did anyone think to offer to replace the tea for a fresh cup? No. I was so disappointed in everything about this restaurant as one if my fellow diners had never sampled Filipino food before, and their experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Superb food, great ambience, carefully (and far reaching) curated wine list to complement the menu and staff who clearly love what they do and aren’t afraid to show it. So refreshing. Highly recommend.
