Our first ever experience with Aurora was not in keeping with everything we had read. Christmas Day was to be something special and instead was quite disappointing. We were seated promptly however waited over 5 minutes to be greeted by our server Carlos. Mind you there were only 3 other tables seated at this time and 2 servers on the floor. I requested a margarita and was told the bar was closed. It was 12:15. My grandson and I ordered iced tea and my husband had water. We had a carafe of water placed on our table. If you want bread with your meal it must be purchased which was the strangest thing I’d ever heard but whatever. While we waited on our meal the other server in the room was serving wine and beer to nearby tables. We were told the bar was closed by Carlos and never given the option of ordering wine or beer. We had drank our ice teas and emptied the carafe. No replacements were offered. When the ceasar salads we ordered were brought my husband asked if anchovies were available but Carlos either didn’t know what they were or didn’t understand the word. My husband said never mind. My grandson had placed his iced tea glass at the edge of the table, hoping for a refill and instead it was taken away. When the food was brought, I requested a refill on the ice teas and water. He brought one iced tea and never brought the water. We had to ask the other server in the room for a carafe of water which she pleasantly brought. Although our food arrived hot and the presentation was fabulous Carlos never came back to check on our meal. Also, our salad plates were never cleared from the table. When I asked for the check, we had never been offered dessert nor did we ever see a dessert menu. When we left, we still had dinner plates sitting on our table as they had never been cleared. A few poinsettia scattered throughout the restaurant would’ve been a nice touch at Christmas instead of the dead cactus sitting on our table.. Carlos needs retraining.
