I barely write bad reviews bit this was a bad one unfortunately. We are regulars at the Avec west loop, which is great. River North location was a big disappointment. We waited for almost 10-15 min for our waiter to come and get the order. Noone came to ask. The place was half empty. Food was ok, service and ambiance were terrible. They should learn from how things are done in their west loop location.

Some really interesting dishes for brunch. We liked the atmosphere, too—very convivial on a Sunday between 10 am to noon.

The server repeated my order correctly. But only brought two out of three of our entrées. He completely forgot about the third entrée. Which came about 10 minutes after the others. No accommodation was made for this failure to bring my entrée. I have heard such good things about this restaurant, and some of the food was extremely flavorful, some of it had no taste at all, and some of it just had too much going on to even enjoy it. We won’t be back.

A delicious evening at Avec. Our servers were attentive and the dishes were all scruptious. We particularly enjoyed the endive salad, the stuffed dates, and the chicken thighs. Sadly, we were too full to try desserts!
