Azuki Sushi is in Banker’s Hill, centrally-located in the heart of San Diego. We are within walking distance of Balboa Park, The Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, and Hillcrest.

We have been providing a modern approach to the rich traditions of Japanese cooking for over 15 years. We pride ourselves in our charming and boutique setting. We offer a warm and inviting atmosphere for those wishing to indulge in our culinary delights.

The food was okay. I ordered the "lobster" roll. The lobster on top was yummy. The roll was to have black prawn and truffle aioli. It tasted like chicken salad. When i asked how it was made I was told the prawn was chopped up and mixed with mayo. I know truffle and tasted none. I sent it back to be replaced with a simple shrimp tempura roll. That was good.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We ordered miso soup, hamachi toro sashimi, miyazaki A5 wagyu beef nigiri, the stardust roll, the sunshine roll, the super dragon, and the toro chirashi. Honestly, this was some of the best sushi I have ever had. Worth the cost for a special occasion. The combination of flavors in the rolls were fascinating and delicious, and the quality of the fish was superb. Given the chance, I could eat the sunshine roll and the toro chirashi weekly. Highly recommend everyone visit at least once.

This was our second visit this year and it did not disappoint! It was even better than the first! Since we were dining late, I chose the Azuki Salad---yes, an unconventional choice, but soooo delicious with assorted sashimi. So glad I tried it. Gem lettuce with crunchy sweet potatoes, apples, avocado and a delicious sesame dressing were just perfect to complement the salmon, albacore, and blue fin (and yellow tail?---whatever it was is was great). The rest of our party had multiple rolls, wonderful oysters, and several great appetizers. One of the stand outs was the RU Kidding Me roll...that is a must try. With something for every eater, the short ribs had the most incredible flavor and were a welcome option. And the cocktails!! I had the Azuki Mule--delicious and refreshing, the Matcha Man is so unique and tasty, as was the Strawberry Kush. Thank you Azuki for the wonderful service, excellence in preparing our meals, extraordinary sushi, and making us feel welcomed and at home.

We had a fantastic dinner here and the entire staff was very sweet and attentive. Highly recommend the Kobe roll!

Great sushi and drinks. May be the top sushi spot in San Diego IMO. Highly recommend for date night or anniversaries. Expensive but not over the top.
