   We have been in Palm Desert for two weeks, and Backstreet is always our last meal before returning home (it’s also our first dinner on arrival). My wife had chicken piccata with and I had veal scallopini, and they were our favorite dinners of our entire stay. By the way, I ordered the scallopini with pasta.

   Our group of ladies went for lunch and we seated on the patio right away. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was prompt and very friendly. We will return soon!

   Salads and Alfredo were all excellent. Creme broule and lava cake were less than expected. Service, ambience, and friendliness of the staff still make this a favorite lunch destination.

   The food and service were outstanding. The chef came out and spoke with us at length. The owner is so personable and makes sure everything is done perfectly. We always come to this restaurant when we are in Palm Springs. We have told all of our friends about it so that they will also eat here when visiting Palm Springs

   Food was quite good but not offered parmesan cheese till we'd nearly finished our pasta. Short rib ravioli very good but only included 5 pieces, a disappointingly small portion, especially compared to the size of the other dishes. Side of julienned vegetables very nice. Half price wine was a good value.

   Excellent spot and will definitely take family when they visit and we feel like Italian. The wind picked up and the patio was closed so they were super packed but that’s not their fault. They were extremely apologetic and gave us free wine at the bar while we waited for a table to open up. Food was amazing. I had a ravioli dish with a mushroom cream sauce and my wife had a pesto penne. We also had an appetizer that was peppers and onions with sausage in a marinara sauce that was just perfectly seasoned and so good! Atmosphere inside was cosy without being loud somehow. Overall loved it and putting our “absolutely come back” list. Staff was super friendly from the owner (I’m assuming) to them server to the the guy that was topping up our water, bread, cheese, etc. For being on El Paseo (on the less busy end west of Monterey,) it was reasonably priced. Not cheap but well worth it IMO. I’ve paid far more for mediocre food and no atmosphere and this was excellent on all counts so great date night out!

   The four of us had a lovely dinner with great food and service. The meatball soup was a highlight and our waitress Yelena was just so great.

   Whenever we visit Palm Desert, we visit Backstreet multiple times. The food was fabulous, and the service was exceptional. We’ll be back for lunch, and for at least one more dinner.
