   I usually love eating at the Tavern but tonight’s meal was not the regular quality. I always order the carbonara which is usually amazing but tonight it was dry, not at all fresh and only had 3 small chunks of chicken in the whole dish. I now am in bed feeling quite sick in my stomach and wonder if it’s from tonight’s meal…. I also don’t like that there is no itemised bill - the items we ordered don’t seem to add up to what I was charged on my card… Another bit of feedback too - the icecream that comes with the kids meals are crappy (bulla icecream on a stick) and we don’t even bother getting any because my kids don’t like them… perhaps a choice of a small drink with the meal instead of an icecream if this is the only icecream on offer (at other venues like this the icecream is usually a scoop of actual icecream with a squirt of topping). The service is a bit of a hit and miss up there - some staff are fabulous and others feel like they are simply getting through their shifts. On a positive note - the wood fire pizzas are awesome! Even the kids pizzas are great - proper wood fired mini pizzas. Overall I gave a low score tonight especially as I lay here gripping at my painful tummy after multiple trips to the bathroom.

   Quiche was great but chips very over cooked. Also disapointed the sweeps had sold out so quickly. Will be back next year if we can buy sweeps.

   I was keen to try your venue on day. Sadly on arrival there we no sweep tickets available. Raffle was cash only. A gin and tonic in a tall glass was a very, very small glass. No mulled lemon or lime or a straw. When I asked about the size size of the glass I was told I should have asked for a pot glass?? Sooo for my next g&t I asked for a pot glass please. At payment I noted there was extra $'s added to the price. Still only one shot of gin so the extra charge was for an extra dash of tonic. Totally unreasonable. The Beach Bar at Kings, The Drift, Chill89, any Tavern in the southern hemisphere is at no added cost. Why you??? On the menu the steak sandwich had cheese, egg and bacon listed. I eliminated these from my order and asked if I could have beetroot instead. I was informed you didn't have beetroot but I could add cold slaw at an extra cost. I had eliminated three items and ask for ONE to be added. That wasn't possible. Although I could have an extra slice of tomato. The steak was full of gristle so much was left on my plate. So not a happy meal. Not a happy day. Something so simple went so terribly wrong.

   Hi Gail, thank you for your feedback. There is a charge for the mixer in all spirits and calculated on whether its a small or tall glass. Same as buying a small or tall coke, the price will be slightly more for the taller glass. The sweeps were very popular for Melbourne Cup day, we will organise to have more for next year. We will pass your feedback about the steak sandwich on to the kitchen and management team and look for ways to improve. Thank you.

   Fantastic venue & excellent food and bar. Reasonable prices. First time I 've been confronted with "full service" dining when the order taking part of the service took 30 minutes, despite abundent, possibly trainee (?) waitressing staff. Suggest Management revert to tried & tested 'order at counter' model. That way the P/T waitresses just deliver the food and can't be blamed when the place is busy ! PS I'm still lining up for a check-out operator at supermarkets, to ensure jobs remain for young people - so this time I've recognised managements likely dilemna - finding experienced, service focussed staff to provide casual labour. Overall - very good venue needing some minor improvement to systems!
