   A very bad experience. 3 years ago this place was great. I should have known things have changed when I walked in at what should have been a very busy brunch scene and the restaurant was practically empty. After ordering we waited for about 15 minutes and finally the manager came to our table to inform me the crab needed for our meal was unavailable. Why didn’t the manager let the wait staff know this in advance. We orderied a substitute and expected they would rush this new order. They didn’t. 20 minutes after placing the 2nd order still no food. To add to the misery a DJ started blasting loud music at 11:30am. Who wants a night club scene while eating brunch, not us. After the music started I had had enough. Over 50 minutes after placing our first order no food and the place was pretty empty. Now I know why, whoever is managing this place needs to improve their performance or be fired.

   It was a great experience. The food was really good. I could eat it all because the servings were generous. Next time I’ll go back when it’s not so busy. Given the grief that was there the staff did a good job to tend to us.

   This would be my 3rd trip to Batch, same location. My date Was seated immediately upon arrival while I parked. Unfortunately we were told the only accommodation I requested of a booth would not be honored due to them reserving them for larger parties. Although I can recall seeing tables of 2-3 people seated in them. We moved past that and sat in the archway near the entrance with a nice view of Clematis street. I cannot recall our servers name however she was very attentive, listed house specials and her personal faves. We both ordered the Mac Attack with a protein. It was A sizable portion with more than enough to take home, my Bourbon lemonade was alright, strong enough taste wise to put some hair on your chest but not necessarily give you a buzz. Overall I would give this spot another chance, hopefully I can catch their happy hour as I was informed they do not honor them on Holidays :(.

   Brisket Sandwich was chewy and I left half of it For something they advertised as tender it was awful.! My friend had the fish sandwich and she said it was very good. The homemade root beer was too sweet and had very little carbonation.

    This place if phenomenal! Our waiter was super knowledgeable and very attentive. The ambiance is very fun and modern. The food was very scratch made and locally sourced. Southern cooking with a modern twist. We started with the buttermilk biscuits, which were a must have. So tender and delicious served with House-Made Jam, & Chili-Thyme Honey Butter. We also tried the fried green tomatoes with stone ground grits and bacon tomato coulis. For the main course my son had the Carolina Brisket Sandwich, which was delicious. But I opted to have the smoked BBQ starter for my main and that was absolutely my favorite. It is a very plentiful serving.
