Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market, The Loop and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners Andrew Ashmore, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. The menu features healthy meets delicious options, and is known for its iconic coffee and bakery counter, including signature cookies, in-house pastry favorites and our house blends from Beatrix Coffee Roasters, featuring Light, Dark, Espresso and Decaf roasts.

Food was dry and flavorless- ordered a burger, which was burnt, and my fries were clearly left under a heat lamp for a little too long. My friend ordered spicy rigatoni, which looked and tasted like it was microwaved. Our server ignored us all night, but continually made the rounds at the table next to us all night. Awful service. Terrible food. I’d have a better time at Applebees.

We have been to Beatrix in the past, just average this time. Had visitors from out of town with us. Disappointed.

Love this place for breakfast/lunch! Brought my 10-month old and everyone was so accommodating! They had a high chair at the table before we even sat down and showed me to the family restroom, equipped with a clean changing table!

Great food and service. We dined at Beatrix before a concert at the United Center. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails for only $7 for a quality old fashioned. We had the short rib dinner and the pot roast stroganoff. Don’t be fooled with pot roast stroganoff. This isn’t your typical curled egg noodles. These are homemade thick ribbon noodles-fantastic. You can tell the meat in both dishes was cooked slow and low for tons of flavor and very tender. Our waiter was great and friendly. He also gave us a dessert recommendation with the caramel pie. Perfect ending to the dinner. Not too sweet as you would think.
