Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. The food and drinks were pretty good but it took over 15 minutes to be greeted with water, then another 10 to actually start on orders. Later, we weren’t checked in on frequently either. As a group of 9 this was somewhat frustrating. They were courteous and responsive to requests but should have checked in more.

The music was far too loud, making conversation difficult. However my server asked to have it lowered slightly and the accommodation was made!

Always love going to Beatrix. A friend introduced me to this restaurant a few months ago. Loved the food. The vibrant urban and relaxed atmosphere. Our server tonight was Tanya and she was a pleasure. She knew how to connect with people! We loved her ability to be invested in helping us have a great dining experience. Thank you!
