   Unfortunately, it seemed like our table got deprioritized with slow service. One round of drinks, entrees, and dessert took almost 3 hours to complete. We watched multiple other tables come, eat, and go in the time we were there. We had to walk our check up to the front because our table kept being walked by, even though the restaurant was starting to empty out. None of it was acknowledged at all. It honestly felt purposeful and left a bad taste in our mouth. The food was fine, but didn’t feel worth the time or money spent.

   I wish the Octopus dish was like the last time, the entire tentacle but this time was cut into pieces and overcooked (chewy).

   We came for Mother’s Day. I love octopus and that’s what I was craving for dinner. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. The presentation left much to be desired. Instead of serving it as a whole piece, usually one or two nice size tentacles it was chopped up. The plate had a few small pieces mixed with a few little chunks of potato and some greens. It was a lot greens and not much octopus. For the price it was not worth it. Craft House in Del Mar serves a beautiful grilled octopus with potatoes for much less but I love the view at Beeside which is why we opted to go there this time. I’d probably come back for the view and maybe drinks. But not sure the food was worth it.

   Service was poor for some reason. We were seated for at least 30 minutes at our table and not once did a waiter/waitress come by to acknowledge and take our order, we had to get up and ask someone to help us. We ordered a charcuterie board but it never came out, waitress never acknowledged it. Food was good but came out cold.

   We had out of town guests and the host has kindly reserved the balcony seating with a view for us. Everything we’ve ordered was delicious - soup, salad, the pork osso bucco was tender and flavorful, chicken was nice and crispy and our guest enjoyed her lamb. The highlight was the churro, it was delicious! I’m glad we made our reservation.

   I heard back from my team that this was absolutely wonderful. The food, service, and ambiance was perfect. We hosted a company dinner here and it turned out fantastic.

    Of our three meals, only one was good and acceptable. I wondered if the restaurant chef had ever actually had Cioppino. This seemed like canned tomato soup with mostly small calamari rings. A few very very small shrimp, I think. If someone orders this, never having had the dish, they will never order it again.
