Fantastic waiters and nice spot seated beside an open fire. Shockingly expensive for average food. Will not be returning...

Not great for vegans - limited options. Dahl was okay but could have been warmer. Too noisy and this spoiled the ambiance. Love the Harry Clarke windows and some lovely decor but felt disappointed in our lunch.

Our waitress was very nice and was doing her best but the front of house staff let the service down. They were rushed, abrupt and unfriendly. The food was mediocre and portion sizes were miserable but the atmosphere was good and buzzy.

I’d like to start by saying the girl who served us was absolutely lovely. She was kind, polite, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. If I were rating based solely on her service, I’d give 5 stars. She even went above and beyond to accommodate a food allergy in our party by ensuring the sandwiches were tweaked accordingly. We had booked the Peter Pan afternoon tea after seeing the ads online, which looked fantastic. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the advertisements. The top tier of the tea wasn’t as presented online, and none of the tables were set up as beautifully as displayed in the promotional images or the window at the entrance of the restaurant. Another downside was that the dining area became very cold while we were eating, making it uncomfortable to stay for long. We ended up leaving after only an hour because of how chilly it got. The room was so chilly our drinks got cold quickly and the ladies sitting at the table next to us were holding their cups to keep warm… One last note: I was surprised to find that the tip wasn’t optional. While I was planning to leave a tip anyway because the girl was lovely, it was unexpected to see it added automatically. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience, and the service was good. However, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed due to the high expectations set by the images and ads online.

Excellent service, speedy with a smile. Could have done with spoons for our desserts though! Cosy atmosphere and a roaring fire to warm us on a grey day in January. Stew was a bit salty. Apart from that, the food was wholesome and visually appealing. Would recommend the soup and Focaccia chicken.

Afternoon tea in Bewley’s . I was disappointed. Glad I had a voucher that was €60 for two instead of €100 but i don’t think it was even worth the €60. The waitress couldn’t have been nicer , so good at her job!! Food was just ok nothing special or anything that stands out . Need to up their game!

We went for my friend's birthday celebration. I booked for 4 adults, but we came with a 5month old baby with carriage. Was told 'you didnt book with a baby'. I felt embarrased infront of everyone. By the time we got a table, the party next to us have the same situation, a baby with a carriage. I need to know what's the drama behind booking with a baby. The hot drinks and pastries were ok at best. Scone for €5.5? It should be one of the best, but no. We have to ask for 2 hot drinks twice that werent served. The place is crowded and cramped. I dunno if this is usual. But I feel cramped in a canteen. The staff were nice and attentive. But the hard product was a complete contrast. I wil cancel the 2 bookings of afternoon tea after this experience. For almost similar price, just go to the nearby hotel.

I left this review for a week because I emailed Bewley’s directly to say how dissatisfied I was with the Peter Pan afternoon tea and I was very disappointed that they couldn’t be bothered to answer my email. I had booked afternoon tea with my daughter as a Christmas treat as we love trying different places for afternoon tea and this had to be worst I have had. I had it booked weeks in advance and I was told where I reserved it area 4 was downstairs in the restaurant however when we arrived we were brought upstairs and it was like an overflow from restaurant and there was no atmosphere and it wasn’t very warm. The girl came to ask us what we wanted to drink and we said we would start with tea. The girl brought our cups and mine was all chipped and I had to wait until she came upstairs again to ask her to change it. I then went to put sugar in my tea and the sugar bowl was all stained with tea and I got my daughter to get the sugar bowl from the next table. We then waited about 30 for our sandwich and cakes to arrive and by then our tea was cold. The food we got for 49.00 euro ahead was not worth the money compared to what you get in other establishments. They was nothing fancy about it and overall was really overpriced. We then ordered coffee and hot chocolate and that wasn’t very warm either and actually the ladies beside us had remarked that there coffees weren’t very warm either. My daughter then used the toilet facilities and she said they were not very clean either. When we asked for the bill I was annoyed that they had added 10% service charge to it which brought the bill to 107.80 . I like to tip the waitress myself and I was very disappointed with the whole experience and thought it was an awful waste of money. We didn’t eat some of the cakes and the girl asked would she pack them up for us and I said yes and anywhere else we have had afternoon tea they have been put into a fancy box but they were just put in a brown bag and where in bits when I got home.☹️

Expected a bit more from this experience. Bar a few cakes to represent Peter Pan the advertising video is nothing like the actual thing which maybe I was wrong to think it would be more adventurous! Also for kids best to focus on just plain ham/cheese sandwiches in my opinion. Setting as always is beautiful and so overall a lovely day out but needed a bit of twigging in my opinion to be more kid friendly, sorry
