Big Daddy’s Restaurant located in Massapequa, NY opened in 1993, specializing in the foods of New Orleans, Cajun, Creole and South. Often imitated, but never duplicated, Big Daddy’s remains the “Original Home of Southern Food & Moonshine.” The atmosphere is fun, casual and colorful which you will know as soon as you enter. The newly renovated bar features Louisiana swamp cypress and old time brick. Portions are big and so are the Hurricanes.

The food is excellent, and the portions are generous. The restaurant is loud, so conversations are difficult. Also, parking is almost non-existent, so be prepared for a hike on surrounding streets, especially weekend nights.

Both catfish dishes were outstanding. The hostess was on point with having a minimal wait. The wait staff is always attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. The band was Trickbag. Who are high energy and had the place jumping especially when they Grateful Dead tunes. Definitely get them on your music schedule more often

This is authentic New Orleans cuisine. I’ve never had anything like it this far north. Don’t let the outside fool you, the inside is far more inviting. The outside looks like it would be a local bar that does food on the side. This is not the case, the inside is all tables with a small bar, extremely warm and homely atmosphere.

Always a fun atmosphere. Service is on point and exceptional. Bar Tenders pay attention to their audience and you’re never left waiting. The wait staff and bus boys are hustling and moving, totally paying attention to the diner.Live Music is FOREVER Outstanding. Tonight we heard Harmonica Bill. They are a tight playing band who play bluesy New Orleans style music. Always upbeat.

Pleasantly surprised at the ambiance of this place. We walked in on a Sunday at 12:30 for brunch and there was live entertainment and a nice energy to the place. We were seated right away. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered our drinks which were delicious. Our appetizer took a little while to come out but they were yummy. We ordered our entrees and they didn’t come out right away which was ok with us because we were still digesting our apps. Only issue I had was that the food was lukewarm. Overall a great experience and looking to going back to try out the dinner menu.
